CARLA THORNTON
Carla Thornton is the senior vice president and manager of the Service Delivery Division at NCI. She is also the program manager for one of the company’s largest programs – the Defense Information System Agency’s Joint Service Provider (JSP) initiative. In this role, Carla leads NCI’s efforts at JSP, including the delivery of artificial intelligence tools and other digital transformation technology at the Pentagon’s mission-critical IT program. JSP is responsible for more than 42,000 customers at the Pentagon and across the National Capital Region, 75,000 IT assets and over 200 employees. Carla is also the deputy general manager of NCI’s Enterprise Readiness Business Unit and leads the company’s efforts at other federal agencies, including the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice.
Prior to joining NCI, Carla served in several senior management roles at SAIC supporting programs at the Department of Defense, DISA, the Defense Logistics Agency, the U.S. Navy and U.S. Central Command. She is an expert in many IT-related fields, including tier 1 help desk programs, IT infrastructure development and IT network management.
Carla holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Grantham University and a master’s degree in Information Technology from American Intercontinental University. She is a certified Project Management Professional and has several other certifications including ITIL v3 (several categories), RCCSP Certified Call Manager, CompTIA Security, and is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (enterprise devices and apps). She has an active top secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
